SENATOR NOZZOLIO SECURES $20,000 FOR LONG HILL FIRE DEPARTMENT
Venice Center
- Citing the importance of assisting local fire departments in their efforts to protect the community, State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $20,000 State investment for the Long Hill Fire Department in Cayuga County.
“Our brave firefighters represent the very best of our communities and the very best of New York State,” said Senator Nozzolio. “Local fire departments provide critical lifesaving services every day and I commend our firefighters for the selfless and heroic duties they perform. Their service reminds us of the importance of having well-trained and fully equipped fire departments ready to save lives and protect our citizens, families and communities.”
The $20,000 State investment will be used towards the purchase of a Rescue Truck that will provide service on emergency medical calls. In the past, the fire department has used their fire truck to respond to all medical calls. The rescue truck is smaller and will allow for quicker response times.
Stephen Fedrizzi, Chief of the Long Hill Fire Department said, “Senator Nozzolio’s efforts in securing this funding will cover the cost of putting our rescue truck into service and allow us to respond quickly to any emergency. We greatly appreciate Senator Nozzolio’s support for the Long Hill Fire Department.”
“It was a pleasure for me to secure this grant for the Long Hill Fire Department and I commend Chief Fedrizzi and the firefighters for their continued commitment to public service,” Nozzolio concluded.
